Kōdō drew the pictures for a four volume picture book entitled Shiki Ōyō Zuan Hyakusen (i.e., One Hundred Best Designs Applied to the Four Seasons) in 1932-33. It included the sixty-three pictures of flowers shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kōdō simplified the shapes of his flower subjects, omitted most of their surface features and often falsified their colors since his objective was to provide artistic designs rather than copies of their appearance in the real world.
