 |
Miyoshi was a scholar who dedicated his life to plant research. His publications included a four volume picture book entitled Hanashōbu Zufu (Illustrated Book of Irises). This book was published in 1922 and included 100 pictures of shallow-flower (Iris laevigata) varieties drawn by Junkichi Satō (1876-1958). Click on a picture to enlarge it. Each iris variety was drawn accurately, as was the norm for botanical illustrations at that time.
