A four volume picture book entitled Hōgajō (i.e., Japanese Painting Album) was published in 1901. It was edited by Jirō Takeuchi but the name of the artist who drew the book’s eighteen pictures of flowers and (or) birds was not included. These pictures are shown in this gallery. With the exception of pictures 1-3, the flowers and birds were drawn in a true to life way.
