In 1895 Chisa published a multi-volume, woodblock-printed picture book entitled Iyōchō. Volumes eight and nine included the thirteen pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. The shapes and colors of flowers and birds were drawn fairly accurately which reflected the strong influence of realistic European art on Japanese artists working in the late 1800s.
