A three volume, woodblock-printed picture book entitled Hokusai Gafu (i.e., Picture Album by Hokusai) was published in 1849. It included pictures by Hokusai previously published in two other picture books; namely, Hokusai Gashiki (i.e., Hokusai’s Style of Drawing) published in 1819 and Hokusai Soga (i.e., Rough Sketches by Hokusai) published in 1820. The ten pictures of flowers and (or) birds included in Hokusai Gafu are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
