In 1815 Masayoshi authored a five volume book of sketches using his other name (i.e., Keisai Kuwagata). Entitled Keisai Soga (i.e., Sketches by Keisai), volume five included the pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. As implied by the word sketch, Masayoshi's drawing style in this book was 'semi-accurate'. He used only a limited number of colors and the shapes of objects were not exactly true-to-life, especially for birds. To see pictures from all five volumes click here.
