Seikō (also known as Shigeyuki) is a printmaker who has experimented with screenprinting, etching and woodblock printing. More than forty of his prints show a group of domestic fowl in rapid flight. Ten examples are shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. In some prints the fowl are flying near big waves (e.g., pictures 1-4) and in others (e.g., pictures 5-8) near big man-made structures. These compositions symbolize our (i.e., domestic fowl) struggle to deal with large, uncontrollable forces (i.e., waves, man-made structures). To see more of Seikō’s prints click here.
