During the late 1800s and early 1900s Seitei designed more than one hundred woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds. Some of these prints were sold individually and the others appeared in picture books. Twenty-two of his individual prints, published as a set in 1916, are shown in this gallery. To simulate the color wash of a watercolor he applied color unevenly both to the picture’s objects and to its background. To see some individually-sold prints by Seitei click here.
