In 1753 Shumboku authored a six volume, woodblock-printed picture book entitled Wakan Sogyoku Tansei Kinno (Brocade Bag of Japanese and Chinese Painting). It included sixty pictures of flowers and (or) birds, along with other pictures showing humans engaged in various activities. This gallery includes eighteen of the sixty flower-bird pictures.
