Like many of his contemporaries Bunrei was influenced by Chinese drawing styles in which the objective was to capture the essence of the objects depicted instead of their true shapes and colors. Consequently, he drew his picture subjects only semi-accurately. Twelve of his paintings of flowers or birds are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Bunrei also published some of his art in a picture book.
