Hōbun was a student of the nihonga artist Bairei Kōno and later taught at the Kyōto Municipal School of Fine Arts and Crafts. He published his flower and (or) bird art both in picture books and as scroll paintings. Fourteen of the later are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
