Shumei graduated from the Kyōto City School of Arts and Crafts then studied at the Kyōto City Painting College. Later he became a teacher at both institutions. His art included many paintings of flowers and (or) birds drawn in the nihonga style. This gallery shows ten examples. Click on a picture to enlarge it. To see more of Shumei’s paintings click here.
